Caption Copy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 27, 2026. Applies to Caption Copy on iPhone, on Android, and to this website, operated by TQ Tech.

What Caption Copy does

Caption Copy is a personal utility. You paste or share a public TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube link. We send that link to our caption helper so you can view and copy the caption, title, or description as plain text. On the website, the same helper returns that text in your browser. Saved captions in the iPhone and Android apps stay on your device.

Trademark and affiliation

Caption Copy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, ByteDance, Meta, or Google. Those names are trademarks of their respective owners. Caption Copy does not log in to those services and does not download videos.

Information the app processes

Post links you submit are sent over HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker so we can return a caption. The Worker may cache the response for about one hour to reduce upstream calls. We do not keep a database of captions beyond that short cache.

On Android, saved captions, copy counts, and settings live only on your device (Room and DataStore). On iPhone, saved captions stay in on-device storage shared with the Share extension. They are not uploaded as a caption library.

On Android, Google AdMob may show ads, including native, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads, unless you buy the optional lifetime Remove ads purchase. On iPhone, AdMob may show interstitial and app-open ads unless you buy that same one-time purchase. Google’s advertising SDK and User Messaging Platform may process an advertising identifier, other device identifiers, approximate location (typically inferred from IP), diagnostics, and consent choices so ads can be requested and, where required, personalized.

On iPhone, Apple may ask if Caption Copy can track you across apps and websites. That prompt is App Tracking Transparency. If you allow it, AdMob may use the Identifier for Advertisers to show more relevant ads. If you decline, ads can still be requested without that identifier. You can change this later in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, Google’s consent form can appear before ads are requested. Ad privacy choices in the app opens that form again when Google requires it.

If you buy Remove ads on Android, Google Play Billing and RevenueCat process purchase history, the purchase token, your Play account, and a RevenueCat app user id so we can unlock the Pro entitlement and restore it on that device. On iPhone, the same unlock is a one-time in-app purchase through Apple (product id captioncopy_lifetime). Apple processes the payment. RevenueCat receives the transaction and an app user id so Pro can be unlocked and restored on that Apple Account. Restore is on the paywall and in Settings. It is not a subscription and it does not renew. We do not receive your full card number on either platform.

On Android, Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics collect app interactions (screens opened, captions fetched or copied, ads, paywall, purchases, review and update prompts), crash logs, performance diagnostics, and device identifiers. This does not require a Google account. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland they stay off until Google’s consent form is completed, and they stay off if you decline storage. You can change this later in Ad privacy choices when Google shows that option. The iPhone app does not include Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics.

Report a Problem

On iPhone, Report a Problem and Report to Admin send a support report only when you tap them. Nothing is sent in the background. The app posts the report over HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker, which forwards it to the developer in Telegram so we can fix the issue. The Telegram bot token stays on the server and is not in the app.

A report can include:

  • The device model identifier (for example iPhone17,1) and the iOS version. We do not send the name you gave the device.
  • The app version and build number.
  • The error code and the error message shown on screen.
  • Which screen the report came from, an optional category you choose, and the public platform of the link (TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube) when that applies.
  • Whether the one-time Remove ads purchase is unlocked on that install.
  • A random anonymous install ID created on the device and shared with the Share extension. The Worker does not put that full ID in the Telegram message. It sends only the first 8 characters of its SHA-256 hash, and uses that same short hash for a rate-limit counter.
  • The message you type, up to 500 characters, when you use the report sheet.

We use this only to diagnose the problem you reported. Reports do not include the post link, the caption text, or your saved history. We do not keep a database of report contents. The Worker stores only that rate-limit counter, for about one hour. Telegram keeps the delivered message under its own privacy policy. Email TQTechOfficial@gmail.com if you want a report deleted.

Information this website processes

When you paste a link into a tool, your browser sends that URL and a Cloudflare Turnstile token to our website Worker. We use the token to check that the request came from a person using the page. We use your IP address only to apply a short rate limit. Successful caption results may be stored in Cloudflare KV for up to 24 hours, keyed by the normalized public URL, so the same post is not fetched again immediately.

Cloudflare Web Analytics may count page views if a beacon token is configured. That product is designed to avoid cookies. We do not run a separate analytics account on the website beyond Cloudflare.

The site can show ads later through a reserved slot that is off by default. If ads are enabled, Google AdSense may set cookies and read an advertising identifier as described in Google’s policy. A consent notice is on the site now. Before personalized ads run, that notice is meant to be replaced by a Google-certified consent management platform.

A theme choice (light or dark) and your acceptance of the cookie notice are stored in local storage on your device. They are not sent to our server.

Google Play Data safety

This section matches the Data safety answers for Caption Copy on Google Play. Data is collected and shared with the third parties below. It is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). You can request deletion by emailing TQTechOfficial@gmail.com or by uninstalling the app to remove on-device data.

  • Purchase history — collected and shared (Google Play Billing, RevenueCat) for app functionality and analytics. Optional: only if you buy Remove ads.
  • Approximate location — collected and shared (AdMob) for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Required for the free, ad-supported app.
  • App interactions — collected and shared (Firebase Analytics, AdMob) for analytics, advertising, and fraud prevention. Required for the free app.
  • Crash logs and diagnostics — collected and shared (Firebase Crashlytics, AdMob) for analytics. Diagnostics may also support advertising and fraud prevention. Required for the free app.
  • Device or other identifiers, including Advertising ID — collected and shared (AdMob, UMP, Firebase, RevenueCat, Play Billing) for app functionality, analytics, advertising, and fraud prevention. Required for the free app.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not create an account. Ads and the advertising identifier apply to the free version. A one-time purchase removes ads in the app.

Apple App Privacy

This section matches how the iPhone app behaves, for the App Store privacy details. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). You can ask us to delete server-side caption cache entries by emailing TQTechOfficial@gmail.com. Uninstalling the app removes captions saved on that iPhone.

  • Purchases — purchase history is collected and shared with Apple and RevenueCat for app functionality and analytics. Not linked to your identity. Optional: only if you buy Remove ads. Not a subscription.
  • Identifiers — a device or advertising identifier may be collected and shared with Google AdMob for third-party advertising and analytics. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is used to track you only if you allow tracking. Required for the free, ad-supported app.
  • Approximate location — may be inferred from IP and shared with AdMob for advertising and analytics. Not linked to your identity. We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • Usage data — AdMob may collect ad interactions and advertising data (for example app launches and ad views) for third-party advertising and analytics. Advertising data is used for tracking only if you allow tracking.
  • Diagnostics — AdMob may collect crash and performance data for advertising and analytics. If you tap Report a Problem or Report to Admin, we also collect the diagnostics listed in Report a Problem for app functionality. That report is optional and not linked to your identity.
  • Customer support — the message you type in a problem report, used only to fix the issue you reported.
  • The public post link you submit is sent to our caption helper and may be cached for about one hour. We do not keep an account profile or a caption library on our servers.
  • The iPhone app has no analytics SDK of its own. It does not include Firebase and does not log which screens you open or what you copy.

What we do not collect

  • No account registration
  • No TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube login
  • No video or media downloads
  • We do not sell your personal information

Third parties

Cloudflare (Worker, KV, Turnstile, Web Analytics, and Pages hosting for the older privacy URL), Google (AdMob, the User Messaging Platform, Play Billing and Firebase on Android, and YouTube Data API for public video titles, descriptions, and tags), Apple (in-app purchase and restore on iPhone), RevenueCat (purchase entitlement on both apps), and Telegram (delivery of iPhone problem reports you choose to send). Each processes data under its own policy, limited to providing their service.

Your choices

Delete saved captions in the app history. Uninstall the app to remove on-device data. Use Ad privacy choices in the app settings when Google requires a consent form. On iPhone, you can also turn off tracking for Caption Copy in Settings. A problem report is sent only when you tap Report to Admin or Send Report. Uninstalling the iPhone app also removes the anonymous install ID. Email TQTechOfficial@gmail.com to ask that a report be deleted. Restore a one-time Remove ads purchase from the paywall or Settings if you reinstall. On the website, clear site data in your browser to remove the theme and consent values. Contact TQTechOfficial@gmail.com with privacy questions.
